Three-cup breakfast


1 cup whole-grain cereal with 1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 cup skim milk and 1/2 cup water mixed with 1 scoop when protein powder
1 cup blueberries

Choose a cereal that's less than 150 calories and has three or more grams of fiber per serving (examples: Multi-Grain Cheerios, Total Whole Grain Flakes, Kashi GoLean Original, Wheaties, Kashi Mighty Bites).

Vegetarian option

Mash berries with syrup, heat in microwave for 30 seconds, and put on top of toasted waffles.

Egg sandwich

Egg sandwich

1 egg or 2 egg whites
1 slice Canadian bacon, warmed (option: 1 slice fat free cheddar cheese)
1 whole-grain English muffin, toasted
Piece of fresh fruit (preferably berries) 

1 Scoop protein powder mixed with cold water and ice


 

Cook egg in pan sprayed with cooking spray. Put egg and Canadian bacon between English muffin halves and serve with fruit.

Herbed cheese and tomato bagel

Herbed cheese and tomato bagel
Vegetarian option

1/2 cup FAT FREE cottage cheese (option: fat free ricotta cheese)
2 tsp. chopped fresh chives
2 tsp. chopped fresh parsley
2 tsp. chopped fresh basil
Dash of black pepper
1 small whole-grain bagel, toasted
2  tomato slices

1 Scoop protein powder, mixed with cold water and ice

 

Blend cottage cheese with hand blender. Stir in fresh herbs and black pepper. Spread on toasted bagel and top with tomato.

Granola-berry parfait

1 cup unsweetened mixed frozen berries, thawed

4-6 oz. fat free plain yogurt mixed in blender with 1 scoop powdered whey protein

 

Option:  Vanilla yogurt, fat free (Dannon Light-n-Fit),

1/2 cup Kashi cereal, any type

Layer berries, yogurt and Kashi cereal in bowl.

Ham and Swiss cheese sandwich with red grape salad

2 slices 100% whole-grain bread
1 1/2 oz. low fat ham
1 oz. slice fat free Swiss cheese
1/2 cup baby spinach
1 Tbsp. mustard
1 cup red grapes, halved, mixed with 6 oz Dannon Light n Fit vanilla yogurt (fat free)
2 Tbsp. sliced almonds

Option: 2 tbsp fresh mint

 

Drink:   Iced tea

Choose a bread with fewer than 100 calories a slice. Make sandwich with bread, ham, cheese, spinach and mustard.    Mix grapes, yogurt, with almonds and mint.
